It has become almost a tradition of mine to post a little sneak-peek of some of the images that I took during a shooting. The first time I did this was after my last trip to Norway, followed by my recent shooting at the beach, so last weekends shooting shouldn’t be left out.
The weather promised to be overcast, which I considered to be suitable for this location, a waterfall in the middle of the forest. We arrived in the late afternoon and the conditions were better than the last time I was visiting here, in last August. Then it was way too bright and I quickly quit the shooting then due to the unbearable mosquitos out there. This time it was better, but those nasty insects were no different and me to stay not too long in that place.
I get some nice and usable images from the stream, but I have the feeling another visit, a little later in the day would be better for that location. Also I should have been on the other side of the river to have better access to more interesting foreground interest in front of the waterfall. As this place is not too far away, this shouldn’t be any issue.
But as I’m already here I explore the area, and focus instead on some detail images. Something that I wouldn’t consider as one of my strengths. I spent some time to get a decent composition of a broken birch tree, and a little later an interesting tree/rock formation. The latter was a lot easier to compose and I included the evening sun peeking through the trees in the frame.
All in all I’m quite satisfied with the outcome of this short shooting, but I will definitely return to this location at a later time of the day, to hopefully get a warmer sunlight through the trees and also in a later time of year in Autumn, once the leaves turned red.
I will have a short video from this shooting coming up also soon also these images need some more processing, so please stay tuned for updates.
