Moving Over To App.Net and Cross-Posting To Twitter

October 6, 2012 ☼ ArticleBlognotes

When I joined ADN a few weeks ago I didn’t expect things to develop as quickly as they did, and boy am I glad it worked out this way. With Netbot for iPad there’s now a fantastic iPad app available 1 and with it’s familiar interface, the new influx of users and familiar faces and finally some old friends from Twitter, Twitter is close to become totally obsolete for me and reduced to a daily visit to keep an eye on a few lists that I have created.

Now that also other services, like Instapaper are starting to integrate into ADN together with the actively developed service it is very exciting to be there at the moment. I am very much looking forward to see what happens in the future.

Cross-Posting to Twitter

I am actually not a big fan of cross-posting and yet have to make up my mind whether or not I should take advantage of the cross-posting feature in Netbot, but I think I might do so, if only for the benefit of my friends over on Twitter. While this is naturally only a half-assed withdrawal from Twitter, I feel it somehow makes sense as not everyone I care for on Twitter is also on ADN. At least for a while this actually might be useful.

To make things easier for you, it is save to say that you can easily un-follow on Twitter if you already follow me on ADN as well. If not you will get still most of the posts into your timeline.

How ADN will do in the long run only time can tell, but for the time being I feel rather comfortable over there 2.

  1. Hoping for the best I had kept a free spot in my dock during my home screen project, which by the way have nailed now. The post will go out soon.

  2. I also signed up for where you can find me under svenseebeck. Not sure where that is going but it seems handy to have the username already.
